A rim, commonly known as a rim, is a component that mounts and supports a tire on the periphery of a wheel and forms a wheel with spokes. The rims and spokes may be monolithic, permanently attached, or detachable.
There are two common types of rims: deep groove rims and flat bottom rims; in addition, there are split rims, semi-deep groove rims, deep groove rims, flat bottom rims, and full rim rims.
This kind of rim has many structural forms. Figure 3 shows a common form of trucks in China. The retaining ring 1 is integral, and an open elastic lock ring 2 is used to prevent the retaining ring from coming out. When installing the tire, first put the tire on the rim, and then put on the retaining ring, and push it inward until it passes over the annular groove on the rim, and then insert the open elastic lock ring into the annular groove.
